How to Care for Hand-Painted Porcelain
Hand-painted porcelain is more than just a functional item — it is a true work of art. To ensure that it delights the eye for years to come with its unique brilliance and decoration, it deserves a little extra care. Here are some essential tips to preserve the exceptional character and durability of ABBela porcelain.
Hand Washing
ABBela’s hand-painted porcelain should always be washed by hand. Avoid placing too many pieces in water at once to prevent chipping or scratching. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive cloths, which can damage glazed decorations, especially those featuring gold, platinum, or mirror-like finishes.
Protect the Patterns
Avoid cutting directly on hand-painted surfaces with sharp tools. While the porcelain itself is strong and safe for everyday use, the decorations are delicate works of art. Our designs are carefully created so that meals can be enjoyed without touching the patterned areas with knives.
Oven Use
Our porcelain can be used in the oven. However, never expose it to sudden temperature changes. Porcelain subjected to thermal shock — regardless of its heat resistance — may be damaged. Avoid direct contact with open flames.
Avoid Dishwashers
Do not wash our hand-painted porcelain in mechanical dishwashers, as this may damage the design.
Avoid Microwaves
Hand-painted items, particularly those with gold or platinum, are not microwave-safe.
Refrigerator and Freezer Use
Porcelain can safely go into the refrigerator or freezer. After removing it, do not place it directly into a preheated oven, as thermal shock may occur.
